Student Loan Options

1. Be sure to exhaust free money first! Apply for all the scholarships and grants that you’re eligible for (apply often and early).
2. Apply for federal money next. Federal student loans are the second-best source of financial aid and this option should be exhausted before you apply for private loans.
3. Fill in the gaps. Private loans are there to help fill in the gaps between college costs and awarded scholarships and federal loans. Private loans can also be consolidated into one loan.
